Life Confession

Each breath felt

Heavy my chest

Weak I knelt

Seeking to rest

This tired imp

Soul wore out

Spirit went limp

Life in doubt

Face on the floor

My wounds tender

Bruised and sore

Defeated I surrender

All pride lost

Found my place

Paid all cost

Hoping for grace

A journey hard

Exploring to discover

Won every scar

Conquered each lover

Finished the war

My farewell to arms

Living for more

I gladly disarm

Burn my flag

Melt my sword

Extend your hand

Give your word

Poppies in the field

Silent the cries

Your love heals

The pain inside

Arrogant fortress

Laying in ruin

Alas I confess

To being human
